Michigan Service Pros respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of this website (the “Site”) to do the same.

This policy explains how copyright owners can submit a notice requesting removal of content that allegedly infringes their copyright, and how users can submit a counter-notice if they believe content was removed in error.

This policy is intended to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

1) How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content on this Site infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written DMCA notice that includes all of the following:

Your contact information: full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address

Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are involved)

Identification of the allegedly infringing material and where it appears on the Site (include the exact URL(s) and enough detail for us to locate it)

A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law

A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for electronic submission)

2) What Happens After We Receive a Valid Notice

After receiving a complete DMCA notice, we may:

Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content, and/or

Notify the listing owner or user who posted the content

We may also restrict or terminate accounts of repeat infringers, where appropriate.

3) Counter-Notification (If You Believe Content Was Removed by Mistake)

If your content was removed or disabled due to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice including:

Your contact information: full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address

Identification of the removed/disabled content and the URL(s) where it appeared before removal

A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed or disabled due to mistake or misidentification

A statement consenting to jurisdiction:

If you live in the United States: you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district where you live

If you live outside the U.S.: you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court where we are located

You agree to accept service of process from the party who submitted the original DMCA notice (or their agent)

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a lawsuit within the timeframe required by the DMCA, we may restore the content, as allowed by law.

4) Important Notes

Knowingly submitting false DMCA notices or counter-notices may have legal consequences.

Michigan Service Pros is a directory platform. Some content may be provided by businesses or users. We will respond to valid DMCA requests as required by law.

We may update this DMCA Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
